The climate is constantly changing and if you love mother earth, you want to make sure that you are doing your part to keep her healthy and around for many more generations. If you are planning a move and you do care about the climate, this list will show you where you should move to and where you should avoid. Let’s take a look.

Anchorage, Alaska

Wow. You may be thinking that Alaska has a lot of snow, ice, and cold to offer you. While it does get very cold in the winter, Anchorage tops the list because it is an ideal place for anyone who loves the climate. Since the city is not overrun with developments, there are tons of trees and wildlife to enjoy while here. The natural environment here has been left mainly intact which means that even with some temperature changes or climate evolutions, Anchorage will survive.

AVOID: New York City, New York

If you do love the climate, one of the places you want to AVOID living in is New York City. While the city itself has a lot to offer a resident, it is not somewhere you want to live if you care about the climate. In fact, this city is considered to be one of the top cities for smog and this is due to all the vehicles and transportation avenues that run here.

Portland, Maine

Another nice city to live in if you love the climate is Maine. You will enjoy beautiful fall seasons where the leaves turn colors and fall off the trees to the warm summer where you can step outside and take in the sun. While this city is a beauty, it is also a nice place for anyone to live and feel good about the climate. The environment around and throughout the city is intact and does not pollute the air like some other cities. The government in Maine is working to preserve the natural parks and resources, which is a plus.

AVOID: Modesto, California

Modesto is ranked on the list of cities with a ton of smog. The ozone here is polluted and residents in the area find it difficult to breath on some days. Air pollution is a serious problem here in Modesto and is definitely NOT a city you want to move to if you are looking for clean and fresh air that does not burn your lungs when you breathe.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

While Albuquerque is home to some very hot summers, it is a nice place to call home if you are in love with the climate and want to preserve it as much as possible. There are many open areas here and you will find that nature is abundant.

AVOID: Bakersfield, California

This is the second time that a city in California has made the list and there are many other cities within this state that do have a bad climate, so it is important for you to pay attention to where you move. Bakersfield has a bad ozone and residents breathe in polluted air thanks to the emissions from cars and trucks that pass through on a regular basis.

The Climate Is Our Friend

If we want to be able to continue to farm crops, tan in the sun, and enjoy sunny days, we need to do our part and take care of the climate. The list above provides you with some excellent cities to live in with a clear and fresh atmosphere and some cities that you should avoid.
